Govt seeks to define stem cells as drug, regulate use in therapy today news

The Union health ministry has proposed an amendment to the Drugs and Cosmetics Act that may finally bring stem cells and cell-based products under the ambit of the law. Interestingly, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) was apparently not consulted.
